Sony listens to fans and has brought back the popular classic PS5 UIs that launched during the holidays.

Last year during the holidays, Sony rolled out a handful of special themes that gave PS5 consoles a retro refit, stylizing the system around the PS1, PS2, PS3, or even PS4. The console doesn't have custom themes, so this surprise was well-liked by quite a few PlayStation gamers. The themes were only temporary for PlayStation's 30th anniversary, and were eventually taken off.
It turns out the themes were more popular than Sony had thought they would be, so now they're coming back. Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 will soon get its own themes under a new Appearance section in system settings. The new features are added in a system update to be released today, complete with a bevy of upgraded audio features and adjustments.
The four PlayStation 30th Anniversary themes will be available with the update, but Sony has not discussed future plans for more customization options.
Here's the announcement from the PlayStation Blog:
"During our 30th anniversary celebrations, we surprised our fans with a limited time selection of nostalgic customization features for the PS5 System UI to honor the four PlayStation consoles that paved the way for PS5: PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
"Due to the overwhelmingly positive response from our community, we're happy to bring back the look and feel of the four console designs for players to customize the home screen on PS5!
"This feature will be called the Appearance, and can be accessed under the Settings menu."
