The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct hosted by Nintendo wrapped up last night, and while some Smash fans might be a bit disappointed with the last DLC fighter, some others would be excited about the other announcements.

Altair, Cuphead and Rabbids crossover to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Throughout the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct, we learned that the fifth DLC fighter to finish off the first Fighters Pass is Byleth, from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. What was also announced during the livestream was a bunch of new Mii costumes that players can enjoy dressing their Mii fighters in.

Some of the new costumes that were announced were actually quite surprising and not something I expected Nintendo to do. The first one that was announced was Altair from Assassin's Creed. The second was a new Rabbids hat, and last, but certainly not least -- a Cuphead skin. Rabbids and Assassin's Creed are both Ubisoft IP, which makes me wonder why Nintendo didn't reveal Rayman as the last DLC fighter. Regardless of that, though, these new Mii costumes are fantastic additions to the wardrobe of wearables.

Oculus Go price dropped, VR now starts at just $149

Oculus is ringing in the New Year with some new fresh pricing on its Oculus Go VR headset, with new $149 and $199 pricing.

Oculus Go price dropped, VR now starts at just $149

The Oculus Go 32GB is now just $149 down from $199, while the 64GB version is down to $199 from $249 -- both receiving a $50 price cut for 2020. This isn't a high-end VR gaming headset, but rather an entry-level VR headset.

You won't be playing Half-Life: Alyx or anything on it, but if you wanted to consume media in the virtual world, then the Oculus Go would be your go-to headset. Apps like Netflix, YouTube, and others work beautifully in the all-in-one VR headset. This is something I've personally tested on a plane, and it works pretty damn well. Now, Oculus Go starts at just $149 making it even better.

AMD Zen 3: 600-series chipset will have USB 4.0 support in late 2020

Anthony Garreffa | CPU, APU & Chipsets | Jan 16, 2020 10:35 PM CST

A slew of new leaks are teasing that AMD's next-gen Zen 3 architecture, Ryzen 4000-series CPUs, and new 600-series chipset are all ramping to launch towards the tail end of 2020.

AMD Zen 3: 600-series chipset will have USB 4.0 support in late 2020

Electronic Times is reporting that AMD's new 600-series chipset will support both USB 3.2 and USB 4.0, with AMD's new chipset designed to support the next-gen Zen 3 architecture and Ryzen 4000 series processors. We should expect large IPC gains with the new Zen 3 processors, which will continue to see AMD excel in the CPU market.

AMD will have a flagship X670 chipset, something that will continue to support he AM4 socket and PCIe 4.0 standard, but we could also see native Thunderbolt 3 support included. Other rumors do state that AMD could shift away from the AM4 socket, but that would be a big shift -- it would end backwards compatibility, but it could introduce new tech like DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 standards going forward.

Intel to detail Xe GPU architecture and features at GDC 2020

Anthony Garreffa | Video Cards & GPUs | Jan 16, 2020 9:52 PM CST

Intel teased its Xe DG1 software development vehicle at CES 2020, but it looks like the Xe GPU architecture itself will be unveiled in greater detail at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in March 2020.

Intel to detail Xe GPU architecture and features at GDC 2020

Intel itself has said it will be hosting a session at GDC 2020 about its Xe GPU architecture, where we'll find out more details on the hardware architecture, and more. Don't worry, James Bond will NEVER be a woman says Bond producer

Anthony Garreffa | TV, Movies & Home Theatre | Jan 16, 2020 9:11 PM CST

James Bond is a man, and will be a man for the foreseeable future -- even with rumors and a push from those who want more diversity in the character and for Bond to be female. But sorry, it ain't happening... at least not on producer Barbara Broccoli's watch.

Don't worry, James Bond will NEVER be a woman says Bond producer

In a recent interview with Variety, James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli said she is keen to create new female characters inside of the 007 franchise but Bond was, and will always, be a man. She said: "He can be of any color, but he is male. I believe we should be creating new characters for women--strong female characters. I'm not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that".

Pierce Brosnan who played Bond in the 90s said it was time for Bond to be a woman, but now Broccoli has stepped up and squashed those rumors. At the time, Brosnan said: "I think we've watched the guys do it for the last 40 years. Get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there. I think it would be exhilarating; it would be exciting".

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane joins NBC, signs $200M contract

Anthony Garreffa | Business, Financial & Legal | Jan 16, 2020 8:27 PM CST

NBCUniversal has just secured Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, with MacFarlane signing a huge $200 million TV deal that gives him some great flexibility.

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane joins NBC, signs $200M contract

MacFarlane will be leaving his warm home of 20th Century Fox TV, with MacFarlane's new deal will see the Family Guy creator creating new content for NBC's entire portfolio. Not only that, but MacFarlane will be free to sell to outside buyers including Netflix, as well as being a free agent on the movie side of things.

MacFarlane is a big fish to catch, so it should come as no surprise that he was being courted by Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Warners, Sony, ViacomCBS and Disney. In the end, the 5-year $200 million deal with more freedom at NBCUniversal won him over.

NVIDIA jebaits AMD, drops GeForce RTX 2060 to $299 to battle 5600 XT

Anthony Garreffa | Video Cards & GPUs | Jan 16, 2020 8:15 PM CST

NVIDIA has just trolled AMD by dropping the price of its GeForce RTX 2060 to $299, after its introduction at CES 2019 and its starting price of $349. I've also got some rumored specs on NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card here.

NVIDIA jebaits AMD, drops GeForce RTX 2060 to $299 to battle 5600 XT

This means that NVIDIA has now got an RTX graphics card at under $300, offering the Turing GPU and its 6GB of DDR6 memory at 14Gbps for $299. AMD introduced its mid-range Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics card at CES 2020 starting at $279.

NVIDIA is now more competitively priced with the GeForce RTX 2060 at $299, as it is a faster graphics card than the Radeon RX 5600 XT (which I'll be reviewing soon) as the Radeon RX 5600 XT is around 15% faster than the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, and around 20% faster than the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti.

Fortnite: 120FPS now on iPad Pro, something consoles can't do yet

The world of high refresh rate gaming is opening up for Fortnite gamers on-the-go, with 2018 iPad Pro owners able to hit 120FPS through a new update.

Fortnite: 120FPS now on iPad Pro, something consoles can't do yet

Epic Games' new update for Fortnite enables 120FPS goodness in Fortnite with 2018 iPad Pro models, as they pack the fluid ProMotion display. The new update also adds support for clickable thumbstick buttons (L3/R3) on certain iOS controllers.

Fortnite will see its graphics settings drop to Medium when 120FPS is enabled, which is done through the video settings in the game. This is a given considering Fortnite is running on an SoC, and driving 120FPS is pretty crazy. So crazy that even the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game run Fortnite at 60FPS... meaning that the iPad Pro is better than current-gen consoles (at least the base model units, that is).

Samsung Galaxy S20+ will shoot 8K video at 30FPS

Samsung is ramping up for the release of its next-gen family of Galaxy S20 smartphones, with the Galaxy S20+ reportedly rocking 8K video abilities. We already know Samsung's new Galaxy S20 range of phones will have gorgeous 120Hz displays, too.

Samsung Galaxy S20+ will shoot 8K video at 30FPS

According to the latest report from XDA-Developers, Samsung's new Galaxy S20+ will not only have a 120Hz-capable display, but it'll have 8K 30FPS video shooting abilities. 8K at 60FPS is a little too insane for smartphones this year, so don't expect 8K 60FPS just yet.

Samsung should be tapping a new 64-megapixel sensor to shoot insane 8K video, but we should expect some gorgeous 4K stabilized 60FPS video, too. The higher-end Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphone should have an even more insane 108-megapixel snapper, but I'm not so sure about 8K 60FPS video on that phone, either.

Cyberpunk 2077 delayed to September 17, 2020

Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed five months to September 17, 2020 on all platforms to ensure more polish and fine-tuning.

Cyberpunk 2077 delayed to September 17, 2020

CD Projekt RED today announced Cyberpunk 2077 won't hit its original April 16, 2020 release date, and has been pushed back almost half a year to September 2020. The reason is simple: The team needs more time to build their magnum opus.

"Cyberpunk 2077 won't make the April release window and we're moving the launch date to September 17, 2020.
