Blizzard is working on a new Diablo animated series that will premiere on Netflix, the company announced.
A new animated Diablo series is in the works at Netflix, but no exact premiere date, episode run, or other details were confirmed.
"I'm thrilled to announce that we are in development for an animated series for Diablo with Netflix. As a big Diablo player myself, and someone who loves the indulgent darkness of Sanctuary I am very excited to see this project come to life," Blizzard president Joanna Faries said on stage at BlizzCon 2026.
Faries emphasized that Blizzard is more than just games--it's also entertainment. That means more adaptations could happen for other franchises too:
"And Diablo, I promise, is just the beginning. To our Overwatch community, to our Warcraft community, and who knows, maybe even some of our other universes, just know there are great discussions being had, and trust me while I begged and pleaded to be able to say more today, I can't spill the beans just yet.
"But I promise as soon as we can, we will share more details with you."
Blizzard has seen a resurgence with the Diablo franchise first with the release of Diablo 2 Resurrected in 2020, and then with Rise of the Warlock, the first-ever new expansion for Diablo 2 in the last 25 years. The IP remains strong, especially for its multi-decade age, uplifted by modern-day billion-dollar generators like Diablo Immortal and the colossal sales-and-season-pass monetization of Diablo IV.
