Respawn Entertainment is unleashing Season 1 of Apex Legends otherwise known as Wild Frontier, tomorrow at 10AM PST/1PM ET. EA has now revealed what we can expect inside of the Season 1 Battle Pass, which we've got detailed below:
- 1000 Apex Coins (these can be put toward the next Battle Pass if you like)
- Apex's first ever 3-stage Evolving Legendary Weapon Skin (Havoc)
- Exclusive Epic PDW weapon skin
- Legendary Apex Pack with Guaranteed 1+ Legendary
- Epic Apex Pack with Guaranteed 1+ Epic
- 5 standard Apex Packs
- 3 Legend skins
- 20 exclusive rare weapon skins
- 9 exclusive banner frames
- 9 exclusive intro quips
- 9 exclusive seasonal stat trackers
- Exclusive badges, Battle Pass boosts and more!
The new Battle Pass will cost 950 Apex coins which works out to $10, but EA is also offering the Battle Pass Bundle that will cost 2800 Apex coins and will throw you right up to level 25 instantly. The pass will also unlock Lifeline Revolutionary, Wraith Survivor, and Mirage Outlaw skins instantly so you can use them right away.
As you get through the levels in Apex Legends, Battle Pass holders will earn rewards that will include skins for your Legends and weapons, trackers, and badges. There are over 100 items that EA and Respawn have ready to be unlocked, all within the first season.
Apex Legends' new Battle Pass can be purchased anytime throughout the first season, with rewards automatically unlocking up to your current seasonal level. For example if you are level 15 and purchase the Battle Pass, you'll unlock all of the rewards up to level 40 as soon as the purchase is done.
What happens if you don't have the Battle Pass? Well, you can still earn a Wild Frontier character skin, five Apex Packs, and 18 of the new Wilf Frontier stat tracks just by playing in the first season of Apex Legends. The Battle Pass reward items can also be earned by people who don't buy the pass, but they'll earn them much, much slower than those who do.
EA has also confirmed that season 1 loot isn't going to be stupidly tied to ridiculous in-game challenges, which EA even laughs about by saying you won't need to do a "720 backflip off of Watchtower Artemis and get two Wingman headshots before hitting the ground". We might see that in future Battle Passes, but EA is making the first season focused on playing, and getting better at the game.
Apex Legends Lead Product Manager, Lee Horn, explains: "We've tried to create a Battle Pass where first-time spenders can get a strong base of weapon and character cosmetics to fill out their initial collection at a deep discount. In addition, we've included our first ever three-stage evolving Legendary Havoc weapon skin (for veterans who are looking for the new hotness), as well as Epic and Legendary Apex Packs".
