Apple has been experiencing massive global backlash over its deliberate slowing down of older iPhones, with their $29 battery replacement program kicking off immediately instead of early 2018.
Apple confirmed the news with TechCrunch, where they said: "We expected to need more time to be ready, but we are happy to offer our customers the lower pricing right away. Initial supplies of some replacement batteries may be limited".
The company normally charges $79 to replace out-of-warranty iPhone batteries, but the company has reduced this cost by $50 down to $29 after massive controversy of lowering iPhone performance in the excuse of stopping unexpected shutdowns.
