Fox seemingly cancel 'Fantastic Four' sequel

Bad news for the less-than-fantastic reboot bomb

Despite previously asserting that the company was totally committed to releasing a sequel to this summer's reboot box office bomb 'Fantastic Four', 20th Century Fox has quietly shelved the June 2017 release date for the sequel.

Despite optimistically announcing a sequel for June 9 2017 - even before the first movie hit cinemas (and bombed soon thereafter), ComicBook.com has revealed that Fox has removed the film from it's star-studded upcoming schedule which includes the likes of 'Independence Day: Resurgence', 'Deadpool', 'X-men: Apocalypse' and 'Alien: Covenant' to name just a few.

Grossing well under it's production budget and rife with tales of behind the scenes problems with director Josh Trank, 'Fantastic Four' enjoys a diabolically bad 10% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
