I know this isn't tech related - but TweakTown is intertwined with Facebook and so are 500, 000, 000 and counting users.

I'll keep this short and sweet.

Facebook have been touting some changes lately - which of course they keep under wraps. With the release of "The Social Network" it doesn't come as a surprise that Zuckerberg and co would use this time frame to update Facebook.

Today, they launch some new things which I won't go into lots of detail over - but give you the gist of it.

"Groups" is just that - groups, it will let you put your friends into specific groups (family, sports team, TweakTown!). Once the group is created, a group member posts to the group - everyone in the group will receive a notification. This is handy as sometimes you don't know if someone has seen something you've posted - but now, when in the group - all users within the group will receive a notification, so you will know they saw or read what you've posted.

Also included in Groups is Group Chat - you can speak to the entire group if you wanted to.

"Download Your Information" - this allows you to select what you want from your Facebook profile (pictures, messages, etc) and have them sent to you in Zip form via E-Mail. To protect your information - the feature is only available after confirming your password and answering the various security questions.

There's also a new dashboard to see how applications use your data to personalise your experience. Obviously as there are lots of apps out there now - it will give you the details on just how much sites can see of your information/profile.

Most of this should be rolling out today (Groups is a go!) and the Download Your Information will supposedly be available tomorrow.

Feel free to join the TweakTown group!
