Classic MMO Final Fantasy XI opens itself up to new players with an expanded free version with no time limit and a boosted level cap.
Having just celebrated its 24th anniversary this year, Final Fantasy XI is one of the oldest active RPGs on the market today. Now Square Enix is prolonging the old-school MMORPG's life with an increased free trial campaign.
Gamers can now play Final Fantasy XI for free without a time limit (users only had 14 days before the new changes), and the level cap for free users has been increased from 50 to 75, giving lots more opportunities to continue playing. Older accounts that already used the free trial in the past can also jump back in for free via the new program.
The free trial version does have limitations, though, namely with job classes, social features and area access. The minimum price for 30-day subscription playtime in FFXI is $12.95 per month, which includes an $11.95 subscription plus a $1.00 character fee.

You can now adventure at your own pace without worrying about the play period. Enjoy life in Vana'diel by carefully developing your character, exploring various areas, and interacting with your companions.
With the level cap raised, you can grow your character more than in the previous free trial, and you will also be able to challenge the many contents that have been added up to level 75.
Free trial accounts that have been acquired in the past can now be used again due to the unlimited play period. Even if your play period has already ended, you can enjoy the free trial starting today.
