In an interview with Bloomberg, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said that Grand Theft Auto 6's multiplayer mode will launch next year, in 2027. Bloomberg believes that Clancy's claim is something he "simply anticipates" rather than confirms, but the casual confidence with which he said it makes us wonder whether he just gave GTA 6 Online an unofficial release window.
"We spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans, and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators," Clancy told the publication. "You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer."

To this day, Rockstar has never confirmed that a GTA Online sequel exists, or anything at all related to multiplayer support for GTA 6. In fact, the studio has previously stated clearly that GTA 6 will launch as a "single-player experience." GTA Online may be offered separately, continuing Rockstar's approach of selling story and online modes independently, but nothing is confirmed about exactly how or when it will arrive.
GTA 5 also didn't launch with multiplayer support. The game released on September 17, 2013, and GTA Online followed a few weeks later. This time, however, Clancy is suggesting a much longer gap between the single-player launch and any multiplayer follow-up.

Clancy also expects GTA 6 to bring a major wave of viewers to Twitch, and it's easy to see why. It wouldn't be a stretch to say November 19 could bring Twitch some of its highest viewership ever, as players and creators alike stream what may be gaming's most anticipated open-world release to fans worldwide.
IShowSpeed, a household name in the streaming world, plans to move to New Zealand specifically to play GTA 6 at midnight local time, 18 hours ahead of the US release. Clancy expects a wave of returning viewers who haven't logged into Twitch in a long time. "It absolutely will spike the overall viewership meaningfully," he said. "How much, I have no idea."
