TL;DR: A reliable leaker says Assassin's Creed Hexe likely won't launch before late 2027, delayed from a planned summer 2027 window after development upheaval, director changes, and reworked mechanics. Ubisoft may lean on remasters while Hexe, now crucial for the franchise, remains over a year away.

Assassin's Creed Hexe seems to get a new launch window every week. While previous leaks put the launch window right around June 2027, renowned leaker NateTheHate2 has tweeted that Assassin's Creed Hexe will likely launch in late 2027, at the earliest.

This comes right after reports claimed that an official reveal for Assassin's Creed Hexe was imminent, which would normally indicate a release window that was approaching swiftly. Of course, these rumors were compounded by the leak of a DLC, which made fans hopeful that Hexe would launch earlier than many had anticipated.

However, Nate has just advised them to pump the brakes a bit. Assassin's Creed Hexe is still more than a year away from launch, according to the leaker who has a good track record of previous Assassin's Creed leaks. The game has gone through a tumultuous development cycle, and that has naturally pushed the game back from its original launch target, which was right around summer 2027.

Nate's reasoning behind this claim does not stem from any concrete information, but rather his understanding that Ubisoft does not need to launch a new main entry into the Assassin's Creed franchise just yet. That is true, since Assassin's Creed Shadows is barely a year old right now, and Black Flag Resynced has also just launched to a superb response.

Assassin's Creed Hexe has had to endure radical changes to its development team, first losing two directors within two months, followed by a massive restructuring wave that affected 50 employees. Moreover, the game's new creative director, Jean Guesdon, has reportedly brought with him a new creative vision and has since reworked some of the game's core mechanics, such as magic.

Therefore, Hexe may not even be the same game that was promised to fans years ago. Nevertheless, that does not change the fact that Assassin's Creed Hexe is supremely important for Ubisoft, since the company is going through troubled times lately, with fans seemingly losing interest in its flagship Assassin's Creed franchise.

Assassin's Creed Hexe is the main entry in the series that is set to follow Assassin's Creed Shadows, but Ubisoft is also reportedly working on more remasters, such as the rumored Assassin's Creed 1 remake. That strategy may be the way forward for Ubisoft, since fans are apparently more interested in remakes than new games nowadays.
