After months of nothing but bad news, Assassin's Creed Hexe seems to be making a comeback with some positive rumors. The game has been in developmental turmoil, first losing two directors in two months, and then parting ways with 50 developers in one go. Information around Assassin's Creed Hexe has been very scarce ever since its announcement, but it seems like that is about to change.
A new leak by a known Ubisoft insider, "Rogue," has surfaced, outlining various new Assassin's Creed Hexe features, story points, and gameplay details. According to Rogue, a number of voice lines from the game have leaked, which give us an idea of what to expect from Hexe's story. It is according to these voice lines that we now know that the legendary assassin, Ezio Auditore Da Firenze, will make an appearance in Assassin's Creed Hexe.

This is huge news, especially given the kind of fandom Ezio has garnered over the years. The leak goes on to say that the main protagonist of the game, Anika, is a descendant of Ezio's sister, Claudia Auditore. Anika was previously referred to internally as Elsa, but that was just a placeholder name. There is a leaked Anika dialogue that says, "They call me a witch," so we know our protagonist is probably going to get in trouble for it.
Back to Ezio, there are several voice lines from which we can deduce that Ezio is definitely returning. The most important line is arguably "Come, Leap with me. One last time for an old man," potentially referring to a situation in which the protagonist has to perform a leap of faith with Ezio. Looking at the leaked dialogue, it's likely that Ezio will appear as an Isu projection or in flashbacks, rather than in person. This kind of implementation has been done before, notably in Valhalla and Revelations.

There are other important pieces in the leak, too, such as the game's primary location being Würzburg. There are apparently lots of forests in Hexe, and an unlockable skill for "tree-to-tree branch jumping" is available. There are blood pacts, poison bases, ritual sites, and stolen relics, along with a character with the most badass name, Wolfgang.
It must be said that these are leaks not confirmed by Ubisoft, so take them with a spoonful of salt. While the leakers "Rogue" and "j0nathan" have a decent track record of accuracy, "nothing is true" until it comes out in the final release. Even if the information is true as of today, it may change in the coming months. Assassin's Creed Hexe has no fixed launch date yet, but industry insiders speculate it will launch in 2027.
