The rumors are coming thick and fast about the Steam Machine now, and it seems that Valve really could be shaping up to launch the PC before June is out.
The Steam Hardware Updates account on X has just posted what appears to be shipment details of Steam Machine units (and the Steam Frame, too) sent to Valve's warehouses in the US.
This is another hint (assuming it's genuine) that Valve is preparing the ground for the Steam Machine to hit the shelves very soon.
As spotted by Trusted Reviews, Steam Hardware Updates has previously indicated that they believe a June 23 announcement - which is next Tuesday - could be in the cards, with pre-orders potentially live a week later.
That's based on a source telling them that Valve is allowing review videos to be posted after June 23, suggesting that this is the date for the big reveal.
The latest post from the X account confirms that: "I expect an announcement before the 30th!" Of course, heap the salt on all this, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Valve make the announcement this month. For one thing, this would mean that the company had kept its original promise of a launch in the first half of 2026 (albeit that timeframe was more recently changed to "this summer", which of course could still be June).
More to the point, we've seen a whole load of clues and leaks that strongly suggest the Steam Machine is imminent. Reviewers have the device already according to rumors which are backed up by the appearance of leaked Geekbench scores.
Moreover, Valve just brought initial support for the Steam Machine to the stable release of SteamOS, and you won't get a much heavier hint than that as to the launch being close at hand.
Get ready for the Steam Machine unveiling next week, then, possibly - and steel yourself for the price tag. If some analysts are right, it could soar past the $1,000 mark, which would be disappointing to say the least.
