New filings from CI Games spotted by Polish publication Bankier show that the company has now freed its latest game from an exclusivity deal with Epic Games. It's been revealed that Epic and CI Games have terminated their multi-year rights deal that originally made Lords of the Fallen 2 exclusive to the Epic Games Store.

In the filing, the Polish game developer notes that it has been "released from its obligations under the binding agreement," and that the termination was "conditional in nature."

Lords of the Fallen 2 is slated to launch sometime in 2026 and remains the top priority for CI Games.

The wholly-owned franchise recently turned a profit for the developer after the first Lords of the Fallen game sold 2.5 million sales, many of which were the result of steep discounts on consoles and PC. The studio also revealed some interesting figures about the first game, confirming a $80 million budget:

"CI Games' dark fantasy action-RPG, Lords of the Fallen (2023), has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide, officially breaking even at the end of February on a total budget of 298 million Polish złoty ($80.45 million, based on current exchange rates), including development and marketing."

Lords of the Fallen 2 will also be distributed by Plaion (Deep Silver), who will hand global marketing and physical product shipments. The sequel is expected to make a presence at this year's various game events, possibly the Summer Game Fest, or even as part of one of Sony's or Microsoft's shows.
