TL;DR: A Redditor bought over $1,300 worth of high-end SSDs for just $210 in Walmart's clearance aisle, including a 2TB Samsung T5 Evo and a pair of WD Black SN770 drives. This is quite the haul, and it follows some recent massive bargains on high-end GPUs like the RTX 5080 and 5090.

There's another tale of bargains to be had in Walmart's clearance aisle, and this time rather than snagging GPUs at ridiculously low prices, it's SSDs that were bought.

Tom's Hardware noticed that a Redditor managed to secure a haul of multiple SSDs with yellow sticker reductions in clearance, spending a total of $210 for three high-end drives and a 1TB SSD upgrade kit.

The actual total value of these SSDs is over a staggering $1,300, so the buyer has got more than a grand off with these models.

The four models included a 2TB Samsung T5 Evo portable SSD, which was snagged for $45 versus a current asking price of $270 (as per Newegg pricing).

Then the Redditor picked up a pair of WD_BLACK SN770 SSDs, both 2TB in capacity, which were $65 apiece (and now selling for $400 each on the shelves elsewhere). This is an excellent performer of a drive (I have the older and slower SN750, and it's still a great piece of kit in my opinion).

Finally, they secured a PNY 1TB Complete Upgrade Kit which packs a 1TB NVMe SSD and associated bits and pieces to help with file transfers from an existing drive. This costs over $200, but the Redditor grabbed it for $35 reduced at Walmart.

With recent reports of a number of high-end GPUs going very cheaply due to yellow sticker discounts at Walmart - like an RTX 5090 at $1,120, and an RTX 5080 priced at $562, almost half the sticker price - it appears that the clearance aisle is well worth checking out for any tech goods if you're near a store.

These products may be open-box affairs - returns - or have damage to the packaging, but are otherwise in good working order (or they should be - if not, you can always return the item to Walmart yourself, of course).
