The new Halo Combat Evolved Remake is being co-developed by Abstraction Games, sources tell insider Rebs Gaming.

Halo Studios is poised to unveil the next Halo game on October 24, but until then it appears new reports and rumors have surfaced about the project. According to the latest info from Rebs Gaming, the new Halo game, which is expected to be a Combat Evolved remake in Unreal Engine 5, is being co-developed by a Virtuos-owned studio in the Netherlands.
"Two of my sources say Abstraction, a Virtuos studio located in the Netherlands, is developing the Halo: Combat Evolved Remake," the YouTuber, who has an accurate track record of reporting Halo leaks, said in the video.
Abstraction Games was acquired by Virtuos in early 2025, and the group has Halo Studios listed as a partner. The studio has worked on Halo in the past, assisting 343 Industries with adding new features to the Master Chief Collection, and also worked on games like Baldur's Gate 3, Dune Awakening, and even ARK: Survival Evolved. All told, the studio has shipped more than 60 games.
What's more is that Abstraction is also adept at porting games to multiple platforms, which may fuel the reports of a PS5 release of the Halo CE Remake.
Virtuos has worked closely with Microsoft's games division, helping ship megaton bestsellers like the most recent Oblivion remaster...yet this makes sense due to the sheer size of the company. Virtuos is the world's largest external developer and is practically the bedrock of the modern games industry.
Halo Studios has confirmed that it will announce the next Halo game at the Halo World Championships on October 24.
