TL;DR: The Battlefield 6 beta features three Conquest maps with distinct playstyles: Siege of Cairo favors close-quarters combat with SMGs and shotguns, Iberian Offensive includes more vehicles and open areas, and Liberation Peak suits Recon snipers. Squad coordination, smoke grenades, and class roles are key for success.

The beta for Battlefield 6 multiplayer has gone live, and I have already played 14 hours of it since it was made available. Here's what I have learned exclusively from playing Conquest.

Full Conquest Game - Siege of Cairo

There are three maps available in the BF6 beta for the Conquest game mode, two are similar, and one is pretty different, at least in terms of how you want to play it. For example, Siege of Cairo is a close-quarters map where players will mostly be rocking with SMG and AR weapons, possibly even shotguns, depending on how good you are at positioning.

Iberian Offensive is similar in size to the Siege of Cairo, but features more vehicles and a no-man's land located in the center. Liberation Peak is the larger of the two maps, or at least in terms of it being more visibly open. This map is where the Recon class can really cause havoc.

Below you will find each of my tips and tricks for each of these maps, plus general pointers for getting the most out of Conquest in terms of what it offers.

Siege of Cairo

Siege of Cairo is the map I have probably played the most of out of my 14 hours clocked on Battlefield 6, and I can say you will find this map extremely fun if you like tight, snappy gunplay that requires you to check each corner you go around. I play Conquest with the goal of goon squadding around the map to capture as many objectives as I can.

Doing this prevents the enemy team from getting us into a choke point where they can essentially spawn camp us. To prevent spawn camping from happening, you'll need to capture enemy objectives around the map to spread out the spawn locations for your teammates. Below is the squad I found most effective at moving through the map and capturing points.

Siege of Cairo Tips

  • Take 1x Assault, 1x Engineer, 2x Support
  • Stick with your squad!
  • Close quarters = Assault rifles, shotguns, and SMGs
  • Smoke objectives before entering and throw smoke in front of enemies
  • Use Engineer to restock on grenades/smoke before storming an objective
  • Lone wolfing it on this map will result in quick deaths, stay with squad for revive opportunities
  • Move to the highlighted target objective
  • Leave C (No Man's Land) alone for both teams to fight over, concentrate on capping the other points

When moving in on an objective, it's typically best to use a smoke grenade at your entry point, and then another smoke grenade right in front of where the enemy is located. This is how you can provide cover for yourself as you move onto the point, and then put a smoke in the enemy's face so they can't gun you down as you advance. If you can get away with just a smoke in front of the enemy opt for that, but in most cases I found it best to drop the double smoke for maximum cover.

I personally avoided vehicles on this map as I found there were simply too many angles for enemies to fire RPGs from, and most tanks/vehicles aren't around very long for them to be effective. I found I was much more effective on foot, moving as a squad from point to point.

I also found the Support class was extremely valuable on this map due to its close quarters and intense corner play. Medics and squad members are able to utilize the new revive and drag mechanic, which is particularly good in close quarters combat with plenty of cover, as downed allies can be quickly dragged behind cover for a revive. This is why I recommend running two Supports in a squad for this map, as reviving with Support is much faster, and since most of the map is in close quarters, you will have ample opportunities for revives.

Iberian Offensive

Iberian Offensive plays very similarly to Siege of Cairo, but vehicles are much more valuable, particularly on the outer skirts of the map where various objectives are placed. Iberian Offensive is a close-quarters map between points B, C, and D, but when moving in on E and A, you may find some players sniping and several vehicles.

Iberian Offensive Tips

  • Take 1x Assault, 2x Engineer, 1x Support (For E and A)
  • Take 2x Assault, 2x Support (For B and C)
  • Stick with squad for easy revives
  • Use smoke grenades to blind enemy tanks
  • Swap to Engineer class if vehicles are preventing pushes

My approach with this map was very similar to Siege of Cairo, but since A and E are quite hard to push onto without an Engineer or a Recon (sniper), I quickly understood that this is where the squad needed some readjusting.

Liberation Peak

Liberation Peak is arguably the most organic Battlefield map out of three, as it's the widest, open map and features the most variety in terms of vehicles and playstyle. Liberation Peak is easily the best map out of the three for sniping and vehicle play. Engineers are extremely valuable on this map as they are needed to take out approaching vehicles and hold down points.

The Recon class is also extremely valuable for spotting enemy vehicles/soldiers as their location is revealed to allied teammates who can follow up by laying down heavy fire in the general direction. Assault is always a reliable class, as someone has to be breaking onto points and capturing the objective.

Liberation Peak Tips

  • Take 1x Assault, 2x Engineer, 1x Recon
  • Use smoke grenades to blind enemy tanks
  • Swap to Engineer class if vehicles are becoming overwhelming

I found Support isn't used as much on this map, and I believe it's because the majority of the map is in the open. Revives leave you too exposed to enemy sniper fire, and a very easy target for tanks. Liberation Peak is truly a sniper's dream, but if you find you are losing games on this map, you'll probably want to swap out to Assault or Engineer and aim for capturing points. Smoke grenades currently counter snipers, so if you are being sniped out constantly, swap your frag or flash grenade out for a smoke and throw as many as you can all over the point.
