TL;DR: Nintendo is expected to host a Nintendo Direct in late July, following the July 17 release of Donkey Kong Bonanza for the Switch 2. The presentation will likely reveal new first-party and third-party games, and may include an announcement for a Switch 2 port of Red Dead Redemption 2, boosting anticipation for the console.

Nintendo is slated to host another Nintendo Direct presentation shortly after the release of its next big Nintendo Switch 2 game, Donkey Kong Bonanza, according to insider sources.

The news comes from Nate the Hate, a gaming industry insider who says he has been told by sources that Nintendo is planning on hosting a new Direct in July, but not before the release of Donkey Kong Bonanza on July 17.

Previous rumors did suggest that Nintendo was planning on conducting a Direct in July, and this does fall in line with the company's next quarterly financial report, slated to land on August 1. Nate the Hate said he does not have any more information other than a Direct slated for the end of July.

"From what I have been told, there is a Direct this month, so the month of July, but that Direct will not take place until after Donkey Kong Bonanza releases. Beyond that, I have no additional information. I do not have information as to the exact timing at this point," said Nate the Hate

Regardless of whether Nintendo does host another Direct before the end of the month, or not, the company is due to unveil a line-up of new games headed to the Nintendo Switch 2, as owners and potential buyers of the new console are patiently waiting to see what will be coming to the Switch 2 before the end of the year.

Currently, there is only Mario Kart World as the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive title, and with Donkey Kong Bonanza around the corner, Nintendo will need to announce a new selection of first-party and third-party titles to keep the hype train rolling for the new console through to the end of the year.

Previously, Nate the Hate stated Red Dead Redemption 2 will be getting a next-generation update, which will be announced alongside its Nintendo Switch 2 port.
