TL;DR: ASRock Phantom Gaming introduced the PG27QFW2A, a 27-inch QHD IPS gaming monitor with a groundbreaking 400Hz refresh rate at Computex 2025. Combining high resolution, fast 1ms response, and vibrant color accuracy, it targets competitive gamers seeking top performance without sacrificing image quality. Pricing details remain undisclosed.

ASRock Phantom Gaming had a few new gaming monitors to showcase at Computex 2025, and one in particular that caught my eye was a 27-inch IPS panel with a unique refresh rate.

ASRock's gaming brand "Phantom Gaming" unveiled two new gaming monitors to its growing selection of displays at Computex 2025, and speaking to the company at the booth, I learned it is particularly proud of the PG27QFW2A, a 27-inch 400Hz IPS panel that sports a 2560 x 1440p (QHD) resolution.

According to ASRock, this 400Hz is an industry first, with the categorization for the "first" being a 27-inch 1440p IPS panel with a 400Hz refresh rate. While I cannot independently confirm that claim, I haven't personally run into any 400Hz IPS panels, so for now, we will have to take ASRock's word for it.

Regardless of the industry-first claim, the PG27QFW2A is certainly an interesting display given its 400Hz refresh rate, IPS panel technology, and 1440p resolution. Gamers will be getting quite a lot with this monitor, as it will be suitable for competitive types who want as many frames per second as they possibly can, and cinematic gamers who will benefit from the color accuracy.

When hitting these higher refresh rates, competitive gamers usually trade image quality by paying the price in either resolution reduction, color quality hit, or both, by dropping down to a TN panel. But now they don't, and while it isn't the 610Hz or 600Hz displays, it's still 400Hz, and at 1440p, not 1080p.

The big question here is price, which ASRock was unable to give me. If the PG27QFW2A is priced well, ASRock could have a very competitive gaming monitor that gamers shouldn't overlook.
