The first entry to Halo Infinite's Summer Update series, Operation: Last Stand, is set to launch tomorrow, adding 'the Mutilator', new game modes, and a fresh battle pass. Halo Infinite was criticized for a lack of in-game content in the year following its late 2021 launch. Since then, Halo Studios has been making up for lost time, starting with the game's Winter Update in 2022, which introduced Forge, campaign co-op, and a custom game browser. There have been 18 updates to Halo Infinite since Winter 2022, and the recent shift from seasons to the shorter 'Operations' format has lessened the wait times for new content.
As teased in the latest community live stream, Operation: Legacy is themed around Halo 3. The studio teased some brief snippets of what's in store for the retro update, starting with Halo 3's EOD armor, which was a campaign reward for completing various Halo 3 missions on legendary difficulty.

Halo 3's Scout armor is also making a comeback, with a Halo Infinite variant that directly recreates the original. The team emphasized, "We wanted to make sure we were going after all the Halo 3 armors", and that bringing back recognizable, fan-favorite skins is a key focus for Operation: Legacy.

Among the remaining armors teased was the Security armor, and the Rogue armor set, which have also been recreated in accordance with their Halo 3 counterparts.

While we'll have to wait for more information to arrive on Operation: Legacy, it's expected that new weapons, gamemodes and additional features will be added to accompany the shiny new armor sets.
Players can jump into Halo Infinite's Operation: Last Stand, which includes 20 free tiers and is available starting tomorrow. Operation: Legacy is set to arrive June 10.
