As revealed in a community live stream, the latest update follows the Operation format introduced in Winter 2024. Halo Infinite's "Operations" are essentially limited-time battle passes, ranging from 20 to 50 tiers, offering cosmetic rewards and new content for players jumping into the game.

Among the headline additions is the Mutilator, a "double-barreled powerhouse" of a shotgun that sports a gravity hammer at the end. It allows players to fire shell-by-shell, utilize an alt-fire that fires off both shells simultaneously, and devastate enemies with its melee attack.

The free Operation Pass features 20 tiers, available between May 6 and June 10. Within this reward track, players can unlock the SECOPs armor set, along with Spartan Points to spend in the game's in-game exchange. The Premium Operation Pass, which features 50 tiers and no expiry date, allows players to unlock four new armor sets - including the SECOPs, Raider, EVA GEN1 and Scarred Comet varieties. It also comes with the Commander Agryna armor kit, which is unlockable immediately after purchase.

Operation: Last Stand also arrives with new playlist updates, including Firefight: Battle of the Academy - a new location that pits players in a secluded Spartan training facility. Mutilator Madness, a new free-for-all game mode, puts the game's latest weapon to work as players battle it out in chaotic 8-player matches.

The update also contains refinements to the game's weapon bench, kill tracking, and in-game balancing. To read the full update notes, check out Halo Waypoint.
