TL;DR: PowerColor’s Radeon RX 9070 GRE GPUs, featuring 12GB GDDR6 and a cut-down Navi 48 GPU, are set for an imminent release, likely in China first. Positioned between the RX 9060 XT and RX 9070, these RDNA 4 cards promise enhanced ray-tracing and FSR 4 support, with AMD potentially targeting Q4 2025 global availability.

Usually, the GRE or Great Radeon Edition cards hit the Chinese market first, and that's expected to be the case here. With both images showcasing retail packaging alongside the GPU designs (these are the exact sort of images that show up on retail listings), this third Radeon RX 9070 GPU will reportedly hit the market before the rumored June launch for the mainstream Radeon RX 9060 XT.

Regarding performance, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE will sit between the Radeon RX 9060 XT and the Radeon RX 9070 and will ship with 12GB of GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit bus. Previous reports indicated that the Radeon RX 9070 GRE launch was pushed back to Q4 2025. However, Videocardz's sources state this isn't the case.

Perhaps the global launch for the Radeon RX 9070 GRE is on track for Q4 2025. Whatever the case is, it'll be interesting to see how the upcoming Radeon RX 9060 XT and Radeon RX 9070 GRE performance stacks up against the recently released GeForce RTX 5060 Ti from NVIDIA.

Introducing a third Radeon RX 9070 Series GPU is a little confusing, naming-wise, but it does suggest that there's a relatively large performance gap between the Radeon RX 9060 XT and the Radeon RX 9070. According to sources, the GRE will also use a cut-down Navi 48 GPU, with 3,072 Stream Processors and a boost clock speed of 2.79 GHz. Of course, as we're talking about RDNA 4 GPUs, we can expect a sizeable boost to ray-tracing performance alongside support for FSR 4.
