TL;DR: AMD will officially unveil the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB and 16GB at Computex 2025 on May 21, with availability expected in June. Featuring up to 3.2 GHz boost clocks and RDNA 4 architecture, these GPUs target mainstream gamers and will compete directly with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 series.

AMD is preparing to formally unveil and launch its mainstream RDNA 4 line-up, which includes the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB and Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB. Like the recent GeForce RTX 5060 Ti launch from NVIDIA, the difference between the two models is in VRAM capacity. Previously, we reported on a rumor that AMD was planning to lift the lid on the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex 2025, and now, with this latest report, we can pencil it in.

A new report at Benchlife (via Videocardz) indicates that the Radeon RX 9060 XT will be unveiled on May 21 as part of AMD's press conference. It also notes that "product availability" will be sometime in June, which aligns with previous rumors about a release in the first week of June.

This also aligns with AMD's official word, indicating that the Radeon RX 9060 XT will be released sometime in Q2 2025. With the baseline GeForce RTX 5060 (with an MSRP of $299) expected to launch on May 19, it'll be interesting to see if this is enough time for AMD to provide benchmark comparisons as these two GPUs, specifically the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB, are expected to go head-to-head.

Although nothing is official, there's a lot we already know about the Radeon RX 9060 XT. Specs-wise, the GPU features half of what's found in the flagship Radeon RX 9070 XT, with 32 Compute Units versus 64, and GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus instead of 256-bit. However, with a reported GPU boost clock speed of 3.2 GHz, it will feature the fastest out-of-the-box clock speeds of all RDNA 4 GPUs so far.

We're keen to see how RDNA 4's new AI-powered FSR 4 and improved ray-tracing performance compare to the GeForce RTX 5060 Series, as this is one area where AMD can make up a lot of ground.
