Fortnite Battle Royale out, 1 million gamers on day one

Fortnite has been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of gamers, but now Epic Games has launched the next part of the game: their new Battle Royale mode.

Fortnite Battle Royale features the same look and style of the core game, with a Battle Bus dumping gamers across the map, PUBG style. The game is out right now on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 with Epic Games noting over 1 million gamers were playing Fortnite Battle Royale on day one.

PUBG Controversy

There has been some pretty major drama surrounding the release of Fortnite Battle Royale and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' developer Bluehole. Bluehole executive Chang Han Kim explained that Bluehole were "concerned" over the marketing of Fortnite Battle Royale.

Kim said: "We've had an ongoing relationship with Epic Games throughout PUBG's development as they are the creators of [Unreal Engine], the engine we licensed for the game. After listening to the growing feedback from our community and reviewing the gameplay for ourselves, we are concerned that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known".

He continued: "We have also noticed that Epic Games references PUBG in the promotion of Fortnite to their community and in communications with the press. This was never discussed with us and we don't feel that it's right".
