UPDATE: EA has confirmed it's not currently developing Skate 4. Sorry folks!
Original story as follows.
After six years of waiting, Skate fans might be getting a new game in the series.
— Daniel Lingen (@HuskyHog) January 28, 2017
EA senior community manager Daniel Lingen recently stirred up the pot by teasing Skate 4. Now when I say tease, I just mean that Lingen posted a simple hashtag on Twitter, but that was enough. There were no screenshots, no ARG's, no cryptic signals or even snippets of footage. Just #Skate4.
The publisher is poised to release their third quarter FY2017 earnings on the morrow, so we could see key EA execs talk about specific upcoming games in the pipeline. I hope to hear about Skate 4, the publisher's multitude of new Star Wars games, and maybe even a quick mention of BioWare's new Dragon Age game.
We'll be sure to keep you updated once the financial results and the investor relations call goes live so you can keep ahead of all the news.
In the meantime you can dust off your copy of Skate 3 and pop shove-it into an Xbox One, as the game is backward compatible on the system.
