HP set to launch printers with email addresses

The first time I heard that HP was looking to put webOS into printers I thought the feature would be of little value. The New York Times has a report today on a new feature in printers, some of which will likely use webOS, that is very interesting.

HP is set to launch a new line of printers this month for consumers, with business printers coming later, that have their own email addresses. A web-connected printer with its own email address opens a whole new world for users of portable devices like the iPhone and iPad.

Using the new HP printers, an iPad user would be able to email a document to the printer for printing. All those images taken on your iPhone could be emailed to the printer without having to sync first.
