Intel is planning two new consumer ultra-low voltage (CULV) processors for the ultraportable notebook market segment. The Core 2 Duo SU9600 will clock in at 1.6GHz and the Core 2 Solo SU3500 will run at 1.4GHz.

Intel Plans Two New CULV Processors

The SU9600 will replace the SU9400 as the fastest chip in the CULV segment while the SU3500 will sit right in the middle. This will allow Intel to split the CULV lineup into three tiers, entry level, single core, and dual core.

Intel expects the chips to launch by the end of March. The SU9600 and SU3500 will be available for US$289 and $262 respectively in trays of 1,000.
