If you play Fallout 4 on a Gen 9 Xbox, Bethesda has some good news for you.

Fans have been waiting months for an update on expanded mod support in the recent Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, and now after months of waiting, Bethesda has dropped some news. The studio says that all platforms are getting a mod storage boost, allowing all console users to download and hold more mods and creations in their digital queue.
A new Fallout 4 update will release on May 27th that drastically increases the mod storage on Xbox Series X/S consoles to a whopping 100GB. That's bigger than some games, which basically allows Fallout 4 gen 9 Xbox users a new kind of freedom that they haven't ever experienced before, and it could be a signal of things to come for new Bethesda titles, maybe even The Elder Scrolls VI and/or Fallout 5.
Unfortunately, due to Sony's regulations, PlayStation users won't get such a substantial boost...but it's still a meaningful boost nonetheless. PS5, PS4, and Xbox One users will now have 15GB of storage to play around with.
The studio says that you should manually save your load order before downloading the new update just to make sure everything stays where it should.
"Once your load order is saved, you'll be able to re-download your entire Creations list at once post-update."
Bethesda's console mod support has come a long way since the studio released it many years ago, and while the group continues to experiment with the unpopular paid mods marketplace, we've always seen lots of support for free mods as well. Gamers might say that this is rightly so, and that mods are the main reason Bethesda's titles have lived on so long--and inspired the current Creations microtransaction system to boot.
