Since Asha Sharma took over as the new CEO of Xbox, there has been an overhaul of the Xbox brand, with Sharma stating that Xbox is getting back to its roots and reestablishing itself as a gaming brand.

This overhaul of Xbox comes after the tragic "This Is An Xbox" marketing campaign, which Sharma axed upon her entry, leaving Xbox in the confused state it is in right now. The marketing campaign essentially suggested that anything could be an Xbox, even a PlayStation, as Xbox is currently moving toward dropping exclusivity entirely.
Xbox fans, in response to that message, began to ask why they would even buy an Xbox console at all if their favorite Xbox games were available on PlayStation. That's valid reasoning, especially if you don't have a PC to play Xbox games.
However, that may be changing, as Sharma said in a recent interview with The Verge that she is "evaluating a range of options for Xbox exclusive games" and that she is "treading carefully."
Furthermore, Sharma said that she is not ready to make "any major changes" to the current policy. Still, she previously stated that she is trying her best to make "the right decision, not the fastest decision," as whatever is decided will have a "decade-long impact".
What happens next will depend on whether Xbox sees value in returning to a more exclusive model or continuing to walk the tightrope between console and PC. The next few months will be critical in defining Sharma's vision, and what is decided will undoubtedly impact the broader gaming landscape.
