MSI's new Claw A8 gaming handheld is now available for pre-order in China, powered by AMD's new Ryzen Z2 Extreme APU.

The new MSI Claw A8 gaming handheld will be officially launched later this month, with Chinese retailers already taking pre-orders, and JD.com has listed its final pricing on the Claw A8 handheld. JD is listing not one but two prices for its Claw A8, with an official price of 6999 RMB and a subsidized price of 5949 RMB.
This pricing works out to around $860 USD without the discount and around $737 USD with the subsidized pricing, while including VAT we're looking at close to $970.

Now that we have the MSI Claw A8 gaming handheld pre-order listings in China, we have some official specs that seem to have changed after the Claw A8's last appearance at Computex 2025 in May. At Computex, MSI listed its Claw A8 handheld with Wi-Fi 6E, but the new listing at JD in China mentions Wi-Fi 7, which means the MSI Claw A8 has wireless capabilities with its new Ryzen Z2 Extreme APU that match Intel's new Lunar Lake offerings.
AMD's new Ryzen Z2 Extreme APU features 8 cores and 16 threads of Zen 5 power at up to 5.0GHz CPU clocks, with 16 GPU cores based on the new RDNA 3.5 architecture. There's a best-in-class battery capacity inside of the MSI Claw A8 gaming handheld, offering 19+ hours of 1080p video playback and up to 3.5 hours of gameplay.
