TL;DR: The Trump Organization initially promoted the T1 Phone as "made in the USA," but retracted this claim from its website within a week, raising questions about the device's manufacturing origins and marketing accuracy.

It was only last week that the Trump Organization announced the T1 Phone, touting that the device was "made in the USA." And now, just a week later, that descriptive language has been retracted from the website.

Following the announcement of the T1 Phone 8002, a gold smartphone that was priced at $499, I speculated the Trump Organization would be unable to achieve this price point without having to outsource components for the device beyond the boundaries of the United States.

Moreover, I stated that if the T1 Phone were to be released at this price point, it would also have to be manufactured outside of the US, simply because the US doesn't have the facilities or the knowledge of smartphone manufacturing lines to create and release a device at such a price point.

These comments weren't just stated by me, but most of the tech media, and then Purism revealed the Liberty Phone, a $1,199 smartphone touted as "made in the USA". However, the founder of Purism admitted that not every component within the Liberty Phone was made in the US, saying, "There are just some parts that don't yet have a supply chain. We're gonna keep incrementing there until we can get to that point."

Following this report, it appears the Trump Organization has silently removed the "made in the USA" tag from the T1 Phone website, with The Verge pointing out the website has actually been scrubbed of any language alluding to the device being "made in the USA." That language has been replaced with "brought to life right here in the USA," and "With American hands behind every device

Using the WayBack Machine, we can see what the website was previously before any changes were made, where it clearly states the phone was "made in the USA." It's disappointing to see the Trump Organization make this change after receiving at least thousands of pre-orders for the device, especially considering that the USA-made aspect was the main selling point. Close to its announcement, there were reports that the website crashed due to so many people trying to check out.
