Oblivion Remastered is a mega-hit for Bethesda and Microsoft in terms of both sales and engagement, new data from Circana reveals.

Oblivion Remastered is doing incredibly well for Xbox. The new remaster was the best-selling game of April in the United States, according to new reports from Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, and the game also vastly eclipsed the sales of its 19-year-old predecessor in the region.
"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Remastered was the best-selling game of the month, instantly becoming the 3rd best-selling game of 2025 year-to-date. It was the best-selling title across each of the PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms," Piscatella wrote on Bluesky.
Piscatella continues, outlining an eye-opening metric: Oblivion Remastered sold more copies in 1 month than the original did in over a year on the market.
"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Remastered sold more units in Apr 2025 than The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion achieved across its first 15 months in market combined following its March 2006 debut and generated more full game dollar sales than the original's first 14 months combined."
While we don't know exact sales figures for Oblivion Remastered, Microsoft did confirm the game had over 4 million players in a matter of days. Many speculated that the bulk of these players were accessing Oblivion Remastered via Xbox Game Pass, but Circana's highlights show that consumers were also quite willing to buy the game at full price.
Just a week after release, Oblivion Remastered had become the third best-selling game of 2025 in the United States, as per Circana reports.
