While speaking to investors, Remedy highlighted that "Max Payne 1 + 2 Remakes is [all the time] making good progress in the production phase."
The project, initially announced in 2022, has been the subject of relatively transparent discussions in investor meetings. Last year, Remedy confirmed that the project passed the proof-of-concept phase in April and "production readiness" in October. Fast-forward to May 2025, and the project remains aligned with early timelines, officially entering full production as of April last year.
Similarly, Control 2 has been progressing as planned, with the game currently in pre-production and "advancing step-by-step" towards its full production phase. Control 2's budget was also a topic of discussion among investors, with Remedy confirming that the game's budget remains as expected at 50 million Euros.
"Control 2 continues in production readiness and is advancing step-by-step towards the production phase," Remedy said.
As a whole, Remedy noted that its video game projects have advanced successfully through 2024, with development "advancing at improving speeds." An optimistic sign, in a market characterised by delays, layoffs, and general scope creep.
The studio holds a relatively clean track record in recent years, with Alan Wake Remastered releasing in October 2021 without delay, and with Alan Wake 2 delivered largely on schedule, minus a brief 10-day delay to avoid the crowding of Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder in October 2023.
FBC Firebreak, a co-op third-person shooter set shortly after the events of Control, also remains in full production.
