MediaTek is expanding its presence in the laptop market with the new Dimensity CX C10 Max, a 3nm processor designed for Google's newly launched Googlebook family of laptops. As part of MediaTek's new Dimensity CX family, the chip targets premium, thin-and-light laptops where performance and power efficiency are equally important.
Under the hood, the Dimensity CX C10 Max features an eight-core CPU. The configuration includes a Cortex-X925 core clocked at up to 3.73GHz, alongside three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores. Notably, MediaTek is sticking with an older generation of Arm CPU cores here, as Arm has already moved on to its newer C1-series designs and recently unveiled the next-generation C2 CPU cluster.
MediaTek pairs the CPU with an 11-core Arm Immortalis-G925 MC11 GPU. Based on its specifications, the C10 Max appears to be closely related to the Dimensity 9400+ platform, sharing the same CPU cores, clock speeds, cache configuration, and NPU, albeit with an 11-core rather than 12-core Immortalis-G925 GPU.
AI is another major focus of the C10 Max, with MediaTek's NPU 890 delivering up to 55 TOPS of AI performance and supporting INT8, INT16, FP16, and BF16 data types. The NPU is designed to handle generative and agentic AI workloads locally, allowing laptops to run supported AI features on-device rather than relying entirely on cloud processing.
Beyond that, the C10 Max supports LPDDR5X memory at speeds of up to 9600 Mbps and UFS 4.0 storage. It also features Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, along with MediaTek's Imagiq 1090 ISP with support for cameras of up to 32MP. The platform also supports Bluetooth 6.0, although that feature will not be enabled on Googlebook devices.
Built on TSMC's 3nm process, the chip is designed for thin-and-light laptops, with MediaTek claiming its power-efficient architecture can enable thinner, lighter, and even fanless devices.
