The Bottom Line
Introduction, Pricing & Availability
One of the most wanted graphics cards of the year would have to be the GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF, and not just because it's another great Hall of Fame graphics card, but that it is one of the first to the market with the inclusion of a LCD display on top of the card. Yeah, a LCD display that can show you real-time GPU temperature, fan speeds, and even custom text.
GALAX were the first to market with a LCD display on a graphics card, and they haven't done it in a small way. GALAX's new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF is a beautiful card inside and out, with some of the best cooling and power delivery on the market, mixed with the uniqueness of having a freakin' LCD display on your graphics card - just cos.
The new GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF might not sound like much to the uninitiated, but HOF = Hall of Fame, the best that GALAX makes. But is the new GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF the best GTX 1080 Ti? That's something we'll find out very soon. This is a normal graphics card review, but I will have a GTX 1080 Ti round up shortly that will include the GTX 1080 Ti HOF.
Price & Availability
GALAX's new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti isn't available everywhere just yet, but pre-orders are open up in Australia for $1399 AUD, which should result in $800-$900 in the US. Amazon hasn't got the GTX 1080 Ti HOF listed just yet. We will edit this review for pricing and availability as soon as we can.
GALAX GTX 1080 Ti HOF: Under The Covers
Under The Covers of the GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF
GALAX has used nothing but the best on their new GTX 1080 Ti HOF, with 5 'enhanced heat pipes', with GALAX's own signature "choco-white" PCB and "super-enthusiast" PureOC 12-layer PCB. They've also used a huge 16+3-phase digital power supply that will handle the crazy overclocks that some will put the GTX 1080 Ti HOF under.
There is a lot of stuff going on in the VRM and power delivery side of the GTX 1080 Ti HOF; it's beautiful to look at.
Again, but a better look at the entire card with a protective layer between the heat sink and the smaller components on the card.
Once more, with the card on its own without the protective layer.
I love these breakdown shots!
The gigantic heat sink itself, with five very chunky heat pipes running through the entire heat sink.
The HOF Panel
HOF Panel FTW
GALAX went above and beyond with the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF providing an awesome LCD display and Lumin X lighting technology that covers the entire card. Starting with the HOF LuminX RGB Effect which can be seen spread into the power supply connectors, video output connectors (!!!), and HOF crown.
Better yet, you can customize all of this to your liking and personal style with GALAX's Xtreme Tuner Plus software.
The HOF panel is awesome, and super-useful, as it can provide real-time information including temperature, driver version, and more.
You can personalize the HOF panel as well through GALAX's own Xtreme Tuner Plus software with custom text for some fun and/or branding.
Cooling Tech & Power Delivery
Cooling Tech
GALAX has made one of the beefiest graphics cards I've seen, with the GTX 1080 Ti HOF rocking a massive 'TriMax Cooler' with triple 90mm fans keeping the entire card cool.
Better yet, there's even a button on the back of the card that lets you manually turn the fans up to 100%, keeping the card cool during those benchmark or gaming sessions.
GALAX has used five enhanced heat pipes through the GTX 1080 Ti HOF, with a beautiful "signature choco-white" PCB.
There's something that GALAX calls their "super enthusiast PureOC 12 layer PCB" layout, something built for overclockers - and includes the 16+3 phase digital power supply that will "cope with extreme overclocking." Backing that up is the "G Anti-noise inductance Ultra Low ESR, Ultra-low noise operation."
Power Delivery
GALAX and their new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF, like MSI's just-released and just-reviewed GeForce GTX 1080 Ti LIGHTNING Z, has ramped up the power delivery and PCIe power connector game.
GALAX's new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF requires 3 x 8-pin PCIe power connectors.
This means the GTX 1080 Ti HOF is ready for massive overclocking, as GALAX teases that the GTX 1080 Ti HOF makes it easier to "deliver OC potential to the very edge of its limit."
Detailed Look + HOF Looks AMAZING
Even The Box Is Hall Of Fame Worthy
GALAX makes the entire HOF experience worthwhile, making the box something that catches your eyes. It's funny... I had to stop by my local IT retailer today to grab an 8-port GbE switch, and I saw the GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF box on the top shelf. The box being white and rather large stands out, so it really does stand out.
See what I mean? The box stands out with a guy in a black cloak looking at you... almost putting a spell on you to buy the GTX 1080 Ti HOF.
GALAX provides you with all of the details on their GTX 1080 Ti HOF, with information the cooler (which is GREAT), the overclocking abilities (which are even better, but you really need LN2 to take control of it), and the beautiful custom white PCB.
There are some details on the RGB lighting as well, which look great. We are going to be doing some video work soon, so I'll embed a video of all of the RGB LED effects once that hardware arrives.
It Looks AMAZING
GALAX has made one of the best-looking custom GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards, with an undeniably unique card.
Triple 8-pin PCIe power connectors will make your head spin, but the HOF panel takes that pain away.
GALAX has put a lot of design work into the back of the GTX 1080 Ti HOF with an amazingly cool backplate, which has some HOF branding as well.
Give us ALL of your power connectors!
It's also a LONG card.

Benchmarks - Synthetic
3DMark Fire Strike - 1080p

3DMark has been a staple benchmark for years now, all the way back to when The Matrix was released and Futuremark had bullet time inspired benchmarks. 3DMark is the perfect tool to see if your system - most important, your CPU and GPU - is performing as it should. You can search results for your GPU, to see if it falls in line with other systems based on similar hardware.

Heaven - 1080p

Heaven is an intensive GPU benchmark that really pushes your silicon to its limits. It's another favorite of ours as it has some great scaling for multi-GPU testing, and it's great for getting your GPU to 100% for power and noise testing.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is one of the best looking games on the market, a truly gorgeous game - and a wonder to benchmark. The team at Crystal Dynamics made a very scalable PC game that plays really well testing graphics cards. We've got DX11 and DX12 results in one here, showing the slight strengths of running DX12 mode.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is one of the most graphically intensive games we test, with Monolith using their own Lithtech engine to power the game. When cranked up to maximum detail, it will chew through your GPU and its VRAM like it's nothing.
You can buy Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor at Amazon.
Metro: Last Light Redux comes from developer 4A Games, making the Redux version of Metro: Last Light the 'definitive' version of the game. Redux had a fresh coat of paint on the already impressive 4A Engine, and it really pushes our GPUs to their limits.

Final Thoughts
GALAX has stepped up their game with the GeForce GTX 10 series, with what I believe is their strongest series of GeForce GTX series graphics cards yet. It all culminates in the GTX 1080 Ti HOF, which definitely deserves the coveted 'Hall of Fame' branding.
GALAX has been making some of the most-used custom GeForce GTX 10 series graphics cards out of all of the AIB partners, with some of the best overclockers in the world using GALAX to smash world records when cooling their cards under LN2.
This is where the GALAX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti HOF steps in, offering a plethora of options that I can't even begin to test with my equipment.
If you're in the market for one of the best custom GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards on the planet, GALAX has one of the highest-end GTX 1080 Ti cards on offer.
GALAX doesn't just hit the utter mountain top of custom GTX 1080 Ti cards with the HOF-branded variant, but the company also has high-end GTX 1080 Ti cards that fill out the market between GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition and the GTX 1080 Ti HOF.
One of the upcoming reviews we have is of GALAX's GeForce GTX 1080 Ti EXOC White graphics card, a custom GTX 1080 Ti with some really slick design work on the card. It has similar performance to the HOF, but if you want the star player of GALAX's current GTX 1080 Ti line up, the GTX 1080 Ti HOF is your winning ticket.
