Today Rockstar unloaded an entire carriage of Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshots, giving more insight into its sprawling new Western story.
The more I see and hear about Red Dead Redemption 2, the more excited I get. With its grim and somber tone set against a desperate, brutal backdrop of murder and mayhem, the game's story has already captured my imagination. But there's much, much more to Rockstar's new game, including a huge open-ended world filled with reactive and dynamic characters, interesting towns that adapt to the century-turning revolution, and massive freedom that lets us take Arthur Morgan wherever we choose.
There's also the new first-person mode that'll ship with the game. This essentially lets us walk around in Arthur's spur-heeled boots and gun down whoever we want--and live with or die by the consequences--all in a kind of FPS-like experience.
Then of course there's the new Red Dead Online multiplayer mode, which mirrors GTA Online but also incorporates both PVP competitive action with PVE-style co-op, all of which is intertwined with story-driven narrative elements. Red Dead Online will launch as a beta in November, a month after the game ships.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26, 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One.
