Dead Space is free on Origin

Gamers can lament the death of Visceral Games with a free copy of Dead Space on PC.

Dead Space is now available for free as part of EA's On The House promotion within Origin, which typically gives out a free PC copy of a random game every month. To snag your copy all you need to do is download the Origin client and secure your copy--then it's yours to keep without limitations.

The goal behind this is to get more people folded into the Origin PC client and thus potentially make sales, which can then lead to monetized engagement, aka the wheel that churns EA's billion-dollar business. But if you're not up for buying anything you can at least get one of the best horror games for free and give it a whirl. RIP Visceral Games :(.
