Retro enthusiast and hardware expert DiscoStarslayer is behind the effort, which took four years. The process included chemically decapping the MechaCon CXP102064 chip to gain direct access to the die, then using a combination of optical dumping and microscopes to analyze and map the chip's silicon. With that, DiscoStarslayer stumbled on an exploit that gave access to the chip's data. And here we are.
