PlaySide Studios has revealed the first gameplay for Game of Thrones: War for Westeros, a real-time strategy game set in George R.R. Martin's incredible world of Westeros, and it's coming to PC in early 2027.
Developed and published by PlaySide Studios, the title lets players command House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen, or the White Walkers in epic battles to claim what anyone wants in Westeros - to sit on the Iron Throne. The gameplay trailer shows iconic characters like Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Jaime Lannister, and the Night King on the battlefield, each with unique abilities to sway the outcome of combat. For example, Jaime Lannister can be seen using a cavalry charge attack, Daenerys using her dragons, and the Night King resurrecting the dead.
Set in the world of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, each house offers distinct armies, buildings, mechanics, and a general playstyle. PlaySide has also announced a beta test later this year, with more details to come. The game was delayed from its 2026 window, but PlaySide confirmed an early 2027 launch at Gamescom 2026.
