Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6's marketing campaign is set to begin "soon," with the rollout described as "astonishing" and reflective of where audiences and attention are today.

Zelnick revealed in a recent interview that Rockstar Games and Take-Two will be following its signature strategy of a short but high-impact marketing push, beginning close to the game's launch.
The CEO also confirmed that the plan aligns with Rockstar's past approach, which has focused on building intense anticipation by revealing as few details as possible about the title until it's perfectly ready. This strategy has historically helped maintain mystery and momentum ahead of major releases.
The announcement comes amid growing speculation about a summer 2026 marketing blitz, with leaks and rumors already fueling fan excitement. Zelnick's comments suggest that the marketing campaign will be tightly timed and strategically placed to maximize engagement in a fragmented media landscape. Zelnick didn't give a specific date for when GTA 6 marketing will begin, but given he said it will reflect "where audiences and attention is today," we can expect it will be short and begin close to the launch of GTA 6.
"I've been asked by investors whether we need to spend marketing dollars given the scale of the intellectual property and its reach and the sentiment. And the answer is, of course, we need to market it." We should expect "a very significant broad based marketing campaign that reflects where audiences and attention is today." That marketing will be different from GTA 5 marketing, as "13 years ago we were still buying network television. We won't be buying a lot of network television."
As the countdown to GTA 6 continues, all eyes are on Rockstar and Take-Two to deliver a campaign as bold and immersive as the game itself. Grand Theft Auto 6 is certainly on its way, as Take-Two wouldn't be doing this media run discussing upcoming marketing if it weren't confident that Rockstar will have GTA 6 completed by November this year. When it launches in November this year, it will undoubtedly cause the entire gaming market to pause briefly and brace for impact.
