Ubisoft has finally pulled the trigger on what is commonly described as one of gaming's worst kept secrets, confirming that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will be officially showcased this week.

In an official Ubisoft post shared on X, the reveal showcase for the long-rumored remake of Assassin's Creed Black Flag will take place on April 23, 2026, with a global livestream scheduled for 4 PM UTC / 9 AM PDT. The publisher even acknowledged the flood of leaks leading up to the announcement, jokingly referring to the project as "gaming's worst kept secret."

The reveal caps off months of speculation, with leaks ranging from figurines and artbook references to a recently spotted (and quickly removed) Ubisoft launcher listing.

Footage and screenshots have also surfaced online in recent days, giving fans an early glimpse of what appears to be a full remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, complete with upgraded visuals and modernized presentation. While Ubisoft has yet to confirm what will be shown, expectations are high for a full gameplay reveal and potentially a specific release date confirmation.

Reports have already suggested that the game could launch as early as July 9, 2026, though this remains unconfirmed, but is from a source that is highly renowned for accuracy when it comes to Ubisoft's internal plans.

If accurate, it would signal a relatively short gap between reveal and release, further reinforcing the idea that development is well advanced. With the official showcase just days away, Ubisoft is finally ready to let Edward Kenway sail back into the spotlight, but this time with a fresh coat of graphical paint.
