Wondering how the Elder Scrolls VI is coming along? It could be in a largely playable state, finally, or at least that's what the gaming grapevine believes.
In fact, this is from Windows Central's Jez Corden (via Wccftech) who spoke about the sixth outing in the behemoth RPG franchise during a new episode of The Xbox Two podcast (see above).
According to Corden - and take this with some salt, clearly - Elder Scrolls VI is in a "quite playable" state, and he hints that the 'core' of the game might be approaching being done.
Sadly, we don't get anything more in the way of info aside from that admittedly vague assertion. Although Corden does also observe that the fact that it's reasonably playable is why expectations were that the RPG might have been aired at the Xbox Games Showcase in June.
Some folks were certainly expecting Bethesda to show something - if only (another) small teaser for the incoming RPG - but there wasn't anything pertaining to the Elder Scrolls VI at the showcase.
However, it always seemed rather unlikely that a second teaser might arrive given the game is still a long way out. (Despite the initial teaser being seven years old, now, rather incredibly).
Exactly how far away the game is, mind you, is something of a controversial point. A lot of rumors are pointing towards 2027 as the release date, although there are some more optimistic indications that it could be next year. This fresh speculation might represent a bit of added hope for those in the latter camp, but we really wouldn't get our hopes up, frankly.
Corden didn't have anything to reveal in terms of the release timeframe, sadly, not even a hint.
