TL;DR: NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 desktop and laptop GPUs launch May 19, featuring Blackwell architecture, 8GB GDDR7 memory, and DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. The RTX 5060 offers up to "double the performance" of the RTX 4060, delivering efficient 100+ FPS gaming at a $299 starting price.

"Starting May 19th at 9 a.m. Pacific Time, GeForce RTX 5060 graphics cards and GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPUs will be available from add-in-card partners, OEM partners, system integrators, and retailers worldwide," NVIDIA writes in its latest DLSS update post, confirming the launch date for its mainstream RTX Blackwell GPUs.

May 19 has been rumored for a while now, so it's great to see NVIDIA confirm the launch date. The GeForce RTX 5060 desktop GPU, which features 3840 CUDA Cores, 8GB of GDDR7 memory, and a Boost Clock speed of 2497 MHz, starts from $299. NVIDIA also confirms that GeForce RTX 5060 laptops will be available starting from $1,099. The laptop variant will be a cut-down 45W version with 3328 CUDA Cores and a Boost Clock speed of

1455 MHz.

NVIDIA mentions performance in its announcement, stating that with DLSS 4, Multi Frame Generation, and fast GDDR7 memory, the desktop GeForce RTX 5060 offers "double the performance of the previous generation GeForce RTX 4060." With the GeForce RTX 5060, gamers can expect to play their "favorite games at 100+ FPS."

Of course, reviews will paint the complete picture of the new GeForce RTX 5060's capabilities as these statements are offered without benchmark data. Based on what we've seen with the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB compared to the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB, we should expect to see a 20% or so improvement in raw performance when comparing the GeForce RTX 5060 to the RTX 4060.

Naturally, it will also be interesting to see how DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation perform at 1080p, as these technologies are a big part of what makes the GeForce RTX 50 Series impressive. The good news is that the RTX 5060 is set to be another super-efficient mainstream GPU from NVIDIA with a TGP rating of just 145W.

Here's a comparison of the specs of the GeForce RTX 5060 Series and the GeForce RTX 4060 Series.
