Elden Ring Tarnished Edition looks to be the definitive way to play FromSoftware's RPG hit, and the devs share new info on what to expect from the Switch 2 version.

Elden Ring is coming to the Switch 2 with a kind of game of the year edition that packs in expansion content and additional updates. It's called the Tarnished Edition, and the definitive Elden Ring SKU is set to launch in 2025 with a host of new features.
At an official Elden Ring event put on by FromSoftware, Japanese publication Famitsu highlighted some of the new features coming in the Tarnished Edition, including two new playable characters--the Heavy Knight and the Knight of Ides.
The Tarnished Edition also comes with four new pieces of armor and weapons, skills/abilities, and customization options for the Torrent spirit steed. FromSoftware has confirmed that this content will be purchasable on other platforms as a separate pack. These additions can fundamentally change how players experience Elden Ring with fresh builds and strategies.
Bandai Namco had previously revealed some of this information during the Switch 2 Direct where the Tarnished Edition was announced, including confirmation that new armor and Torrent cosmetic appearance changes were coming.
The two new classes were also revealed at the Switch 2 Direct, but it wasn't clarified that these were two new classes and not just new armor sets.
The Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is due out sometime in 2025 on the Nintendo Switch 2, but no pricing has been revealed (the game may be a $70 purchase on Switch 2).
FromSoftware's other Elden Ring game, the 3-player co-op survival RPG Elden Ring Nightreign, is releasing later this month on May 30.
