The Bottom Line
Introduction, Specifications, Pricing & Availability
The H260 Ultra Sleek Hue Stik sits in a stylish small metal-framed package, but only packs a 2600mAh punch - is that enough juice to keep you going on the run?
Portable power packs these days come in an extremely wide variety of shapes, sizes and capacities. Thanks to smartphone processing power becoming greater almost-monthly, batteries have become a major victim - seeing most average to heavy device users hit up their wall charger up to twice per day just to keep on running.
Featuring a cool single-LED flash light, an awesome-looking LED battery indicator, and 2500mAh of juice stored, my thoughts on this product lie within the review.
Specifications
The best feature of this product would have to be its metal finish. It looks sleek, new-age and great straight out of the box. Alongside also feeling extremely sturdy, the Hue Stik gives users a very handy single-LED flash light located next to the input and output ports.
With a 1A input and 1A output rating, this battery pack will see your devices charged at these comparative speeds:
- 100% faster than a normal computer USB port (0.5 A)
- 83% of the speed of some OEM wall-socket chargers (1.2 A)
- 47% of the speed of most commercial battery packs (2.1 A)
As you can see by the stats above, 1A is nothing too amazing - but it's still better than nothing. We would have preferred to see 2A or higher.
Because the total capacity is limited to 2,600 mAh and the charging speed is slower than most - don't expect to be able to share your device around when camping or travelling with friends. If losses are completely taken out of the equation (you can expect realistically around 2,300 mAh to be pushed into your phone), the Hue Stik Ultra Sleek 2600 mAh will provide you with the following charge on various smartphone models:
- 140% on an Apple iPhone 6
- 100% on a HTC One M8
- 93% on a Samsung Galaxy S5
- 89% on an Apple iPhone 6 Plus
- 81% on a Motorola nexus 6
- 81% on a Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Pricing & Availability
We found the device listed and available on Amazon for $16.99, which we believe is a fairly reasonable price for what you get.
What's in the box?
As with most portable battery offerings, the total package is quite simple. Providing you with a short user manual and a Micro USB cable for used charging or discharging the device.
Unfortunately, there is no small carry pouch included, as it seems that the aluminum exterior might become scratched when rolling around your handbag or backpack - but for a $16.99 retail price, you can't complain too much given the price.
The actual box itself is very simple and nicely presented, allowing for a full all-around look at the product if you were buying this directly off a shelf from a brick-and-mortar retail store.

A Closer Look & How They Feel
Let's dig deeper
Once again, the aluminum wins out. It feels very nice in your hand and really helps tie in a modernistic feel with the device. This is coupled with the massive button located at the end, used for turning on and off the LED flash light, along with the power indicators.
The button is something that is often overlooked by most companies, whom provide you with a tiny and hard to press button that often requires you to turn on a light or fiddle around for a while before activating any features.
The included flash light is certainly bright enough to illuminate anything you wish to do. It lights up my room as well as the torch on my Samsung Galaxy S4, alongside being a single-LED, so it will drain barely any of your precious power.
The shape is a little concerning as is the weight. Coming in at 170g and cylindrical in shape, the battery pack itself feels almost like two D-Cell batteries stacked on top of each other. Comparing this to other products, the Justin 2000 mAh power bank feels around 50% of the weight in your hand.
How does it perform in the wild?
I'm going on an adventure!
To cut a long story short, the best consumer for this product would be someone who either:
- Always carries a backpack, or
- Has a handbag
The shape is quite long and awkward, meaning that slim or skinny jean wearers will have some issues, becoming quite apparent to me in a short time that a backpack or handbag would be a much better place to store such a device - or even permanently in your car will do too.
Although the 1A output is a little lacklustre, it had no issues keeping my phone running with GPS and an internet connection for quite some time - allowing me to navigate effectively and fulfil my tasks.
There is an issue to be said however with the size and shape yet again. It's quite hard to hold your phone and this device in the same hand, once again negating quite a lot of its portability claims and dismissing the product to the handbag-category once more.
What's Hot, What's Not & Final Thoughts
What's Hot
Sleek styling: The aluminum exterior and awesome red battery indicator LED's make for a great looking and feeling product.
Strong flash light: The flash light is certainly bright and doesn't use much power.
The button: Better than any other I've tried, the function button is big, easy to press and well placed.
What's Not
The shape: It's an awkward and odd shape, meaning you should count this out if you're looking to use it as a pocket device.
The capacity: With only 2600 mAh in the bank, there are many other offerings out there with similar sizing that offer a greater capacity.
Input and output limitations: This product is limited to 1A input and 1A output, meaning you can't charge it extremely fast nor discharge it quickly. Many battery packs of today offer up to 2.5A output modes, meaning you can quickly charge your products on the go.
Final Thoughts
The first impressions were great, however, I was let down upon further investigation. The 1A output mixed with an awkward structure means that the striking nature and sleek design are negated completely.
If they could cram a 2.1A output and 4000 mAh capacity into a similar package, I would have no issue recommending this product wholeheartedly for a handbag, backpack or car-stored product, however, the lack of features ensures it comes up short. A slight saving grace is the tiny price point of $16.99, however, it still doesn't help me push past the limited specifications.
