Resolution Games Releases Angry Birds VR: Isle Of Pigs Onto Windows Mixed Reality Headsets; In Flight To PlayStation VR Next Week

SAN FRANCISCO - March 19, 2019 - Get your slingshot ready, because Red is ready to let loose for more virtual reality (VR) players than ever before. Resolution Games and Rovio Entertainment (ROVIO) today announced at the Game Developers Conference the launch of Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs for Windows Mixed Reality Headsets. Additionally, the game will launch on PlayStationÃ,®VR next Tuesday, March 26.

The companies also announced today the upcoming release of 13 new challenging levels of gameplay, expected to launch in the coming days. With the new content update, fans can soon battle a new boss pig, Dr. Frankenswine, who - with a crank of a handle - takes over the entire island, steals the eggs and turns it into a petrifying paradise. Players will make their way through Maliboo Beach and will also be able to interact with new gameplay elements, including the Alchemy Bomb, a tricksy cube that transforms other blocks when it explodes.

"The response to the game so far has been very motivating. We've been eager to get the game live on more platforms and are ready for more players to try their hand at the virtual slingshot," said Tommy Palm, Resolution Games co-founder and CEO. "We've also been listening to community feedback and are excited to get the new content out, which will add new challenges for those star-seeking players."

Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs, which will have more than 100 levels total over the coming months, is the first game that allows Angry Birds fans to slingshot the likes of Red, Chuck, Bomb and the Blues within the fully immersive environment of VR. Fans of the incredibly popular franchise travel around a remote island where the infamous green pigs often vacation. Players bombard the island's exotic beaches, steep cliffs, snowy slopes and party city, or can take over the island in spooky mode to take on the green pigs, destroy their structures and retrieve the stolen eggs. The levels can be approached from different angles for the best accuracy, while players leverage classic gameplay elements to progress or strive for three stars on all rounds.

The game is available starting today for $14.99 on Steam for Windows Mixed Reality Headsets, and launching for PlayStation VR next Tuesday, March 26. The game is also available on the Oculus Store, Steam and Viveport for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. For more information, go here. Also, be sure to follow Resolution Games on Facebook and Twitter.
