DevClever's innovative title will be unveiled and exclusively playable at this week's EGX in Birmingham, England - where players will be invited to join the team and shape the game
20 SEPTEMBER 2018 - A brand new, innovative space shooter is to be unveiled as EGX, the UK's biggest gaming expo, opens in Birmingham today.
Vanguard: Fight for Rudiarius is a cross-platform multiplayer VR space shooter. In production at Tamworth-based studio DevClever, it sees players pitted against each other in epic space battles, in a rich universe in which the Roman Empire never fell. Watch the brand new reveal trailer to find out more.
Players can join the fight on either PC or mobile devices, each with its own unique set of controls, carefully balanced to provide an optimal experience on any platform. Vanguard is best enjoyed in VR, but players don't need a VR headset to get involved.
Vanguard is designed to evolve over time based on player feedback - and DevClever want to involve their players in the design and development process right from the start, inviting those who get in early to join the team and help shape the game.
The game will launch in the coming months into a completely free open beta phase, and those who sign up early will be given direct input into the future of Vanguard. Those players will be given the opportunity to not only play early builds, but also gain access to exclusive content, and have a meaningful ongoing conversation with members of the development team, helping them to improve and expand on the game.
Players can sign up from today via the game's website, or by coming along to the Vanguard booth in the Rezzed section of EGX, which runs until Sunday 23 September.
Chris Jeffries, founder and MD of DevClever, said: "At DevClever, we've built our reputation on developing innovative and creative experiences for our clients, but I've always had a vision to create our own game. Vanguard is our first step into the competitive gaming scene, and a personal passion of mine."
He added: "It's an ambitious project, but also a chance to show the creative ability of our development team to the gaming community. What I really want is to get the gaming community involved in the production and help us to make the game the best it can be!"
Vanguard: Fight for Rudiarius will launch into a free beta phase in the coming months, and will continue to evolve throughout 2019.
