Marvell - a worldwide leader in providing complete silicon solutions from storage to Internet of Things (IoT), cloud infrastructure, digital entertainment, in-home content delivery and Kinoma software enabling the "Smart Life and Smart Lifestyle" - today introduced its industry leading high-performance, power-efficient Accelerated Data Path (ADP) solution based on its ARMADA-385 system-on-chip (SoC). To address the increasing amount of central processing unit (CPU) traffic from the cloud, the cost-effective ARMADA-385 ADP solution is designed to offer an improved user experience, higher throughput and greater support for service providers and routers. With 5Gbps packet acceleration, the ARMADA-385 ADP is also designed to ensure Quality of Service (QoS) for current and future bandwidth demands from wired and wireless 11ac Wave-2 routers and access points. ADP operates transparently and easily integrates with customers' Linux support package; moreover, Linux extensions and security updates are seamlessly supported. Marvell's patented technology allows automatic and efficient learning of the ongoing network traffic without additional installations or software, which differentiates the ARMADA-385 ADP from competing solutions in the wired and wireless space.

The ADP is feature-rich and optimized for Marvell's Wi-Fi, switch and PHY solutions. It offers L2 bridging, Internet protocol version (IPv) 4 and 6 forwarding, Network Address Translation (NAT), 802.1Q virtual LAN, Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) tunnel support, QoS and per-flow statistics and aging, Firewall and IPSec. It services 11ac Wi-Fi routers and access point/extender solutions, and small office/home office (SOHO) security appliances, and fully supports Marvell 1GE and 2.5 GE PHYs.
The ARMADA-385 chip is part of Marvell's ARMADA 38x family of proven embedded processors that is shipping in high volumes on several consumer, service provider, cloud and enterprise platforms. The Marvell ARMADA 38x family brings a new level of scalability, integration and efficiency based on dual-core ARM v7-A at 2GHz to innovative home and enterprise products. It is designed for high-volume products such as Network Attached Storage (NAS), Wi-Fi Access Point (WAP), Surveillance Video Recorders (DVR/ NVR /Hybrid) and high-performance networking products such as control planes and line cards.
