Savvy Games has made megaton billion-dollar acquisitions over the years, and is in the habit of paying big for teams with proven hits; $4.9 billion for Scopely in 2023 (they produced Monopoly Go, which made $6 billion faster than any other smartphone game in history), $3.5 billion for Niantic in 2025, and $6 billion for Moonton, once that deal closes this year. Counting EA, Savvy/Saudi Arabia's PIF has made and/or funded 3 out of the top 10 video game acquisitions of all time.

It has also been revealed that the $55 billion deal to take EA private was principally funded by Saudi Arabia's PIF.

No details have been confirmed or announced regarding a merger; however Savvy Games CEO Brian Ward did recently just step down. It's unclear if Ward's departure is related to these reports.
