TL;DR: The GeForce RTX 5060 launches at $299. It delivers impressive 1080p gaming performance with 8GB of GDDR7 memory and DLSS 4 technology. It achieves over 100 FPS in popular titles like DOOM: The Dark Ages and Cyberpunk 2077, offering smooth gameplay for mainstream gamers.

The GeForce RTX 5060 is launching today, starting from $299. Although our review won't be ready for a while due to no pre-release drivers being available, NVIDIA is sharing performance data for some of the most popular games running on the mainstream GPU. 100+ FPS running in 1080p with Max Settings, which includes 223 FPS for DOOM: The Dark Ages.

However, with DLSS 4 enabled using the Quality preset for Super Resolution and the maximum Multi Frame Generation setting enabled in most games, which is 4X, three AI frames are generated for each single DLSS 4 Super Resolution frame - you're looking at a big asterisk.

In addition to the above, DOOM: The Dark Ages also uses the Ultra preset (not Nightmare) with a custom texture pool size to account for the GPU's 8GB of VRAM. The GeForce RTX 5060, featuring 8GB of fast GDDR7 memory, means some games need settings lowered to accommodate the VRAM capacity limitation.

DOOM: The Dark Ages running at 223 FPS is still impressive. DLSS 4 Super Resolution offers excellent image quality even at 1080p, and according to NVIDIA, 80% of gamers use this setting to get free performance.

In addition, NVIDIA's Frame Generation has matured into a feature worth enabling if you've got a high-refresh-rate display. The hit to latency and image quality is the sort of trade-off you can live with for additional smoothness. DOOM: The Dark Ages is a title that I've been playing in 4K on a GeForce RTX 5080 with DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation 3X, and the game looks stunning.

Here's the breakdown of GeForce RTX 5060's 1080p gaming performance - with DLSS 4.
