If you're a Minecraft addict - and you've got plenty of company in that respect - you might be interested to learn that the game has finally got a pause button.

As you're doubtless aware, if you play Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, the game world never stops. So, even if you open the menu to adjust settings or whatever, or Alt-Tab away from the game for a bit, you might still be killed - as the action isn't paused.
However, Mojang (as noticed by Neowin) just revealed that the pause function is now live, albeit just for the single player mode - multiplayer is not affected (as you might guess).
A post from Sophie Austin, a writer for Minecraft, explains:
"Have you ever jumped into the menu on Bedrock Edition, only to be jumped by a particularly sneaky creeper? That's because previously in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, the game didn't pause if you switched windows, or opened the menu. Today that changes! We're happy to announce the addition of a pause feature in Bedrock Edition for all players in single-player mode."
Also new to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is the addition of a profile page that shows your achievements and stats, so your friends can see and marvel at them (either at how bad, or good, you happen to be at the game). The in-game stats on that page can also be accompanied by a small collection of four of your favorite screenshots (there are new hotkeys for screenshots on Windows, and for those playing with a gamepad, too).
